Amazingly, Wittenberge, right on the western edge of the GDR was still in the former (and current) Land of Brandenburg. THis is apparent from the Drueckvermerk II 10 32 Throughout the DDR times, even though the Laender had been replaced by Bezirke in 1951, the five different roman numbered codes to indicated printing works followed the Laender rather than the Bezirke. .10 identifies the town in Brandenburg (I don't know which) and I suspect 1245 is the print run. 102/75 is also some kind of Genehmigung or permit. What is Di ? Perhaps Doemitz just over the (Land) border in Mecklenburg. Recommended reading "DIE DDR im SPIETEL IHRER BEZIRKE" Dietz Verlag, Berlin 1989. A list of DDR VEBs is found on this site This VEB also made ALLESREIN an all purpose cleaner which is in this very handy WIKIPEDIA LIST OF DDR PRODUCTS ELN= ERZEUGNIS- und LEISTUNGSNOMENKLATUR unfortunately, HSL is not in this wonderful list of DDR abbreviations<a>.</a>, but thanks to @herr.g, I know it now as HSL=Handelsschlüssellistennummer (Produkt-Klassifizierungssystem für den Einzelhandel in der DDR.) |
