Description
Deutsch: "Die deutsche Schutztruppe für Südwest-Afrika" 44 Abbildungen von Offizieren und Soldaten, sowie von den Grad- und sonstigen Abzeichen derselben nebst ausführlichen Erläuterungen - Verlag Moritz Ruhl, Leipzig 1894 Kaiserliche Schutztruppe für Deutsch-Südwestafrika war die offizielle Bezeichnung einer Kolonialtruppe, die das Deutsche Kaiserreich in seiner Kolonie Deutsch-Südwestafrika unterhielt. Beim Aufstand der Herero und Nama 1904 wird sie für zahlreiche Kriegsverbrechen verantwortlich gemacht. Während des Ersten Weltkriegs unterlag die Schutztruppe 1915 den Truppen der Südafrikanischen Union.


English: Die deutsche Schutztruppe für Südwest-Afrika, the uniforms and insignia of the German Imperial Colonial Troops in South West Africa, published by Verlag Moritz Ruhl i Leipzig, Germany 1894: The Imperial Schutztruppe for German South West Africa (German: Kaiserliche Schutztruppe für Deutsch-Südwestafrika) was the official name of the military formation that maintained the German Empire in its colony of German South West Africa. The Schutztruppe are held responsible for numerous atrocities in the Herero and Nama uprising in 1904. During the First World War, the Schutztruppe was defeated by the troops of the Union of South Africa.
