Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde 1953 niedersächsischen Innenminister genehmigt. Der Schlüssel entstammt dem Wappen der Herren von Boventen, Namensgeber des Ortes. Der Maueranker entstammt dem Wappen der Grafen von Plesse, die bis 1571 über das Amt Bovenden herrschten.
