Deutsch: Breitnau führt dieses Wappen seit dem Jahre 1929. Es wurde vom Generallandesarchiv nach den Wünschen der Gemeinde entworfen. Der Dreiberg und die Tanne sollen die Lage der Gemeinde im Schwarzwald symbolisieren, die Sonne darauf hinweisen, dass die Gemarkung früh und lange besonnt wird. Eine Kirche enthielt bereits das Gemeindesiegel zu Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts. Ob damit die Breitnauer Pfarrkirche gemeint oder nur ein allgemeines Symbol gewählt worden war, ist nicht bekannt. 1903 wurde dieses Bild in einen Wappenschild gesetzt, die Flagge am 19. August 1986 vom Landratsamt Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald verliehen. Im 18. und frühen 19. Jahrhundert zeigte das Amtssiegel des Breitnauer Vogts das Wappen der Freiherren von Sickingen-Hohenburg, der Grundherren des Ortes seit Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts. |
