Blazon InfoField | Deutsch: „Geteilt; oben in Gold (Gelb) ein wachsender, doppelschwänziger, rot bewehrter schwarzer Löwe; unten dreimal geteilt von Schwarz und Gold.“
Das Wappen wurde bereits 1550 verliehen durch Herzog Johann Ernst von Sachsen-Coburg. Es zeigt die Farben der Wetttiner Schwarz und Gold; der geminderte Löwe entstammt dem Wappen der Markgrafen von Meißen, der ersten wettinischen Landesherrn. English: „Per fess Or an armed and langued gules double-tailed lion issuant sable and barry of four sable and Or..“
The arms are granted by John Ernest, Duke of Saxe-Coburg in 1550. They show the Lion of Meißen. It was the coat of arms of the medieval Margraviate of Meissen and can be found in and around Saxony as well as the colours sable and Or. |
