Deutsch: Die Gemeinde Höheischweiler wurde von Thaleischweiler besiedelt, unterscheidet sich aber von dieser Gemeinde in ihrer Geschichte. Die ursprünglichen Ortsherren von Höheischweiler waren die Grafen von Zweibrücken, die in Gold einen roten Löwen führten. 1385 wurde die Ortsherrschaft an Kurpfalz veräußert, von wo sie an die Herzöge von Pfalz-Zweibrücken gelangte. Die Kurpfalz wie auch die Herzöge von Pfalz-Zweibrücken führten ebenfalls einen Löwen im Wappen, und zwar einen goldenen in Schwarz.
In wechselnder Tingierung von Feld und Löwe soll dieser Wechsel in der Ortsherrschaft ausgedrückt werden. Die Vorsilbe Höh-, wodurch sich der Ort von Eischweiler im Thal unterscheidet, wird durch den grünen Dreiberg verdeutlicht. |
