Object history
Deutsch: 1483 verwendete der Schultheiß von Klingenmünster, Hans Johels, sein eigenes Siegel, welches sein privates Wappen beinhaltete und das eine ähnliche Figur wie das heutige Gemarkungszeichen im Ortswappen zeigt. Seit 1736 gab es ein Gerichtssiegel von Klingenmünster, dessen Zeichen offenbar dem alten Wappen nachgebildet war. Es gab somit eine lange unveränderte Tradition des Siegels von 1483 bis 1736. 1963 wurden das Kreuz, als Attribute des Patrons des Klosters St. Michael, hinzugefügt und die offizielle Genehmigung für das Ortswappen vom Mainzer Innenministerium erteilt.
