Object history
Deutsch: Die Herrschaft Lenzkirch wurde 1491 von den Grafen von Fürstenberg erworben. Der Vogt des Amtes Lenzkirch hatte seinen Sitz in Oberlenzkirch, wo sich auch die Kirche befindet. Nach dem Anfall an Baden 1806 wurde der Vogteiverband aufgelöst, Oberlenzkirch 1866 in Lenzkirch umbenannt. Doch umfasst die Gemeinde nach der Eingemeindung von Unterlenzkirch im Jahre 1925 und von Kappel (1975), Raitenbuch (1972) und Saig (1974) heute wieder den größten Teil des ehemaligen Amts Lenzkirch. Schon das älteste Siegel des Gerichts Lenzkirch aus dem 16. Jahrhundert enthielt im Wappenschild als „redendes" Bild eine Kirche. 1910 nahm der Gemeinderat das vom Generallandesarchiv entworfene Wappen an, welches auf dem Siegelbild des ausgehenden 18. Jahrhunderts beruht und mit dem Blumenzweig auch das „Lenz" des Ortsnamens symbolisiert. Die damals festgelegten „natürlichen" Farben der Kirche sind inzwischen heraldisch bereinigt.
