Deutsch: Als Hinweis auf die frühere Zugehörigkeit zur Trierer Abtei St. Maximin steht im Schildhaupt der Doppeladler und im unteren Teil, als Hinweis auf den heiligen Jakobus den Älteren, die silberne Pilgermuschel.
English: The upper half shows the eagle of the St. Maximin Abbey in Trier, which ruled the area for several centuries. The lower half shows a shell, the symbol of St. James, patron saint of the village.
