Deutsch: In Rot ein silberner Turm mit blauem Dach, an dem ein doppelschwänziger, golden gekrönter und golden bewehrter silberner Löwe die Vorderpranken legt. Turm und Löwe treten im ersten bekannten Siegel schon im 14. Jahrhundert auf. 1367 verlieh Kaiser Karl IV. dem Ort die Stadtrechte, daher wurde in das Wappen der doppelschwänzige böhmische Löwe aufgenommen.

Deutsch: Ein Jahr nach dem Übergang an Böhmen erhebt Kaiser Karl IV. Prichsenstadt 1367 zur Stadt. Aus dem letzten Drittel des 14. Jahrhunderts ist das älteste bekannte Siegel überliefert mit Quaderturm und Löwe, wohl das böhmische Wappentier aufgrund der damaligen Pfandherrschaft und Stadtrechtsverleihung. Der Schildinhalt änderte sich in den bekannten fünf Siegeln bis ins 19. Jahrhundert nicht mehr. Von 1818 bis 1837, als Hinweise auf einstige Landesherren unerwünscht waren, stand der Turm allein im Schild. Seit den 1970er Jahren ist der Schild von Blau und Rot gespalten. Diese Änderung erfolgte formlos.
