Object history
Deutsch: Das von Otto Korn für die Gemeinde Westrhauderfehn entworfene Wappen wurde am 20. Juni 1955 vom niedersächsischen Innenminister verliehen. Das Wappen zeigt eine originelle Verbindung des Anker- und Merkurstabsymbols, also Schifffahrt und Handel, beide zu einer Einheit verschmolzen. Das Wappen wurde 1954 auf Grundlage des ehemaligen Wappens der Rhauder-Fehn-Compagnie entworfen.
