Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde ist durch Vereinigung von Mittel-, Ober- und Unterschefflenz und Kleineicholzheim 1972 entstanden. Die drei Schefflenzorte führten in ihren 1653, dem Jahr ihres vollständigen Übergangs an die Kurpfalz, gestochenen Siegeln in den oberen Feldern eines Wappenschildes den Löwen und die Rauten der Kurpfalz, unten als „redendes" Bild für den Ortsnamen eine liegende Erbsenschote (mundartlich Scheve = Erbsenschote). Ihre Wappen unterschieden sich später nur in Tingierung oder Anordnung der Bilder. Das Wappen der Gemeinde Schefflenz ist ihnen gegenüber um das den Ortsteil Kleineicholzheim symbolisierende Eichenblatt vermehrt. Es wurde mit der Flagge am 27. April 1972 vom Landratsamt Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis verliehen.
