Object history
Deutsch: Der Ort war Zubehör der zu Beginn des 13. Jahrhunderts von Ravan genannt Göler errichteten Ravensburg. Die Freiherren Göler von Ravensburg übten bis 1805 die Ortsherrschaft aus. Das Wappen begegnet erstmals im Fleckensiegel (ältester bekannter Abdruck 1777), wobei der Schildgrund durch Schraffur als blau gekennzeichnet ist. Hier wie in den Siegeln des 19. Jahrhunderts ist es mit vollständigem Oberwappen ausgebildet. Darin und mit dem an einen geharnischten Arm erinnernden, jedoch der bäuerlichen Welt entnommenen Bild drückt sich das Selbstbewusstsein der Gemeinde gegenüber der Ortsherrschaft aus. 1901 wurde die Tingierung vervollständigt, seitdem wird der Wappenschild ohne Beiwerk geführt. Die Flagge verlieh das Landratsamt am 7. Februar 1990.
