Description
Français : Dehodencq A. - Ink, Wash - Etude pour la famille du Duc de Montpensier dans les jardins de San Telmo - 21x16.2cm; ce dessin a été reproduit pleine page dans l’ouvrage de référence de Gabriel Séailles, identifié alors comme appartenant en 1910 à l’illustre collection de l’auteur. En 1921, suite à l’achat par le philanthrope Frédéric Schneider d’un tableau de Dehodencq appartenant à G. Séailles, celui-ci lui a offert le présent dessin. Les traces de pli dans le dessin sont évidemment antérieures à cet envoi, puisqu’on peut déjà les voir dans la reproduction du livre. Le dessin est préparatoire au tableau « Portrait de la famille du Duc de Montpensier dans le jardin de San Telmo », n°57 du catalogue de Séailles, pour lequel il existe un tableau préparatoire, n°58 du catalogue.
