Description
English:
Flag with 'Győzzön az igazság' (lit. ~~Victory for the truth) inscription, military headgear, pistol. Part of 1848–49 Army Officer Memorial Place (related to 1848-49 Revolution, bronze, limestone, 1989 works). It recalls the event of August 23, 1849, when 1300 army officers were disarmed near the castle of Gyula. The memorial place is cockade-shaped. There are nine limestone pillars resembling candles, the 'flames' of the memorial are bronze sculptures: flag, saddle, busby (headgear), pelisse, sabretache, sword, pistol and there are virtues on four pillars: symbols of wisdom, courage, temperance, and justice, represented by allegorical female figures - Várkert (lit. Castle garden), Gyula, Békés County, Hungary.
