Oktober 2011 gemeinsam mit grünen Politiker/innen und dem Botschafter der Republik Kenia, H.E. Ken Nyauncho Osinde, im Garten der Berliner Geschäftstelle der Stiftung einen Apfelbaum gepflanzt. Das von Prof. Wangari Maathai ins Leben gerufene „Green Belt Movement“ hatte für diesen Tag weltweit zu einer Baumpflanzaktion zu Ehren Maathais aufgerufen. Prof. Wangari Maathai verstarb am 25. September 2011 in Nairobi. |
