Description
English:
Two-storey city mansion wirh enclosed-courtyard. It gained its present form during reconstructions and extensions in 1891, 1908, and then in 1923. The ground floor walls have medieval remains in the street wing, although the exterior of the building today is neo-baroque in nature. It was designed in 1891 by architects Hubert and Móri for Count Géza Zichy, pianist and composer. Between 1920 and 1940, Count Antal Sigray Maria Fülöp Alajos, an anti-Hitler politician who was deported by the Gestapo in 1944. (see: Antal Sigray memorial plaque on the wall and the Sigray coat of arms above the gate) It was renovated in the 1960s according to the plans of Lászlóné Muszik, an employee of the VÁTI (~Institute of Urban Construction Science and Design) design office. Old monument sign aka Monument XVI (installed in 1866): "~Here stand the Palatine Imre Perényi and Bishop Ferenc Perényi residentaial building, bought in 1515 from Count Gáspár Som de temes. Srone gateframe is original. North of its stood cardinal-archbishop János Scitovszky residential building formerly owned by the royal cannon master Márton.A. M. T. A. R. B. 1866." Emeletes, zártudvaros városi palota. Mai formáját az 1891-ben, 1908-ban, majd 1923-ban elvégzett átépítések és bővítések során nyerte. Földszinti falaiban középkori maradványokat az utcai szárnyban, bár az épület külső megjelenése ma neobarokk jellegű. Hubert és Móri építészek Gróf Zichy Géza,-zongoraművész és zeneszerző,-számára tervezték 1891-ben. 1920-1940 között gróf Sigray Antal Mária Fülöp Alajos kommunista- és Hitler-ellenes politikus tulajdonában volt, akit a Gestapo 1944-ben innen hurcolt el. (lásd: Sigray Antal emléktábla a falon és a kapu fölött a Sigray-címer) Az 1960-as években a VÁTI (Városépítési Tudományos és Tervező Intézet) tervező iroda munkatársa Muszik Lászlóné tervei alapján újitották fel. Későbbi tulajdonosai Medgyessy Béla jogász és fia. Műemlék tábla XVI. Felirata: „Itt állott Perényi Imre nádor és fivére Ferenc nagyváradi püspöknek közös házok, melyet 1515-ben Som Gáspár temesi gróftól cseréltek be. E ház ékesen faragott kapufél-kövei még az eredeti régiek. E ház mellett állott éjszak felől Márton királyi tüzér háza, mely újabban Nagy-kéri Scitovszky János bíbornok-érsek által szereztetett meg.
