Deutsch: Das Wappen der Familie Mönckeberg zeigt einen Mönch am Fuße eines Berges. Hierauf bezieht sich die Darstellung auf dem Steinrelief.
Ein Mönch sitzt auf einem Esel (oder Einhorn), der von einem Narren geführt wird. Er hält im linken Arm ein Buch "Modekritik" und zieht mit der rechten Hand eine Fahne über den Boden. Es ist die Fahne der Maler (mit den drei Schilden). Hinten steht der Hamburger "Hummel" und weint und darüber fliegt eine Möwe. Die Darstellung bezieht sich auf das Gerichtsverfahren, das R. Mönckeberg gegen Hulbe angestrengt hatte. Hulbe hatte im Schaufenster seines Ausstellungsraumes im Hamburger Hof (Jungfernstieg) Zeichnungen des Simplicissimus-Zeichners Ferdinand von Rezniček ausgestellt, die Mönckeberg obszön fand, so dass er Hulbe, den er persönlich kannte, wegen Erregung eines öffentlichen Ärgernisses anzeigte. Das Gericht verurteilte Hulbe zu einer Strafe von 50 Mark. |
