Summary[edit]

Description
English: Detail of Glen Kendrum bridge This arched bridge is the bridge built to replace the old railway viaduct which spans Glen Kendrum a short way above where it enters Loch Earn. The bridge was built to commemorate Nigel Hester, a young cyclist who was killed on the A9; another plaque acknowledges the many supporters who contributed to the "Bridging the Gap" project, part of the National Cycle Network. The route helps cyclists avoid the busy A84 trunk road nearby. Although of recent construction, the bridge is beginning to show signs of deterioration. The bridge stands on the old railway line which linked Balquhidder to Crieff along Loch Earn. A short way north of here, the cycle route climbs the hillside to join the other old railway in the area - the line from Callander to Crianlarich up Glen Ogle.
