Detail view of the source area (~6,800 ft on the S. Tahoma Glacier terminus). The source area is the darker colored brown area in the center of the photo. Note the significant flow left and below the source area, as well as seepage in the source/collapse area. Its hard to see, but on the bottom of the source area, there are very large blocks of glacial ice that are debris covered. NPS/Scott Beason Photo |
