| Description |
English: The district of Coronie is located in the north between 5.29° and 5.90° N and in the west between 55.87° and 56.60° W. The district borders the Atlantic Ocean in the north, the Nickerie district in the west, the Sipalwini district in the south and the Nickerie district in the east.
Coronie has a total area of 3,903 km2 and is divided into three administrative districts, namely Welgelegen, Totness and Johanna Maria. The District Commissioner is located in Totness, where the District Commissioner has his seat. Border depiction is the official Surinamese version, as stated on the website of the Government of the Republic of Suriname.Nederlands: Het district Coronie is in het noorden gelegen tussen de 5,29° en 5,90° NB en in het westen tussen de 55,87° en 56,60° WL. In het noorden grenst het district aan de Atlantische Oceaan, in het westen aan district Nickerie, in het Zuiden aan district Sipalwini en in het oosten aan district Nickerie.
Coronie heeft een totale oppervlakte van 3.903 km2 en is verdeeld in drie bestuursressorten, te weten Welgelegen, Totness en Johanna Maria. Het Districtscommissariaat is gevestigd te Totness waar de Districtscommissaris zetelt.
