Description
English: Disused arsenic mineworkings, Blanchdown Wood 1978. View of the former early 20th century arsenic works to the south west on the site of Wheal Anna Maria, part of the former Devon Great Consolidated copper mine, once the largest in Europe, set in what is now the Tavistock Woodlands Estate, high above the river Tamar. This scene of disused buildings and equipment was taken in 1978. Little vegetation grows on arsenic impregnated ground.
