João; o tema alegórico do desenho simboliza o Império Português - Neptuno estende a mão à figura feminina, a Europa; de pé, África, América e Ásia - podendo dizer respeito à criação da Sociedade Real Marítima, Militar e Geográfica.
English: Drawing LI, in the Álbum do Palácio de Arroios (Arroios Palace Album), Lisboa, Instituto de Alta Cultura, 1956. To the left, D. Rodrigo de Sousa Coutinho; to his right, Prince D. João; the allegorical theme to the right symbolises the Portuguese Empire - Neptune holds his hand out to the female figure, Europe; on their feet, Africa, America, and Asia - the motif could've been inspired on the creation of the Maritime, Military, and Geographical Royal Society (Sociedade Real Marítima, Militar e Geográfica).
