Description

Some large scape development seems to be occurring behind the tram.which is emerging from Marktstrasse on Route 5 to ?Sangerstrasse. In the middle, Hohe Lilie, or the Gasthof Zur Hohen Lilie Domplatz 31. former Klosterhof,1300 with Renaissence facade of 1538,subsequently hotel. Restored 1969-70 as Wine bar and restaurant since 1969, the best in Erfurt in GDR times. Rather strangly, the gable on the next door building, Möbel Voigt, was removed in the 1980s and this modern roof with dormer window put on. Earlier a dentistry, FW Moritz. Has the gable been restored? Yes it has and is now the Restaurant Schnitzler.,restored 2004. On the left, the Grüne Apotheke which had been here since 1587 but which has relocated since the Wende to Paulstraße 1. Domstrasse 30 is now a restaurant, Athos der Grieche.

Former tram tracks branching off on this side of the square can just be made out. They have since been reinstated.
