English: This was the home of inventor Donald Roebling. Included in his list of inventions was the Alligator, an amphibious vehicle that was the prototype of one used during World War II. His Great Grandfather designed the Brooklyn Bridge. Known as Spotswood (or Spottis Woode), this estate is a Tudor Revival house built in 1929.The semi-octagonal elevator tower was added in 1939. This red brick building was designed by Roy W. Wakeling. The estate was placed on the National Register of historic Places on December 19, 1979.
