Summary[edit]

Description

The six light window was made by Clayton and Bell and depicts scenes from the writings of Saint Luke.

The top row shows: The angel speaking to Saint Paul in the tempest. Luke takes notes from Paul in prison. Luke writing the gospel with the bull as his symbol. Jesus raising Jairus's daughter. Peter acts as Bishop and the burial of Ananias.

The Middle row depicts the parable of the good Samaritan: The man falls among thieves. Priest and the Levite pass by. Leaving him half dead. The good Samaritan pours oil and wine into the wounds. He takes him to an inn. He pays the innkeeper two pence.

Bottom row: Ave Maria. Magnificat. Gloria in Excelsis. The presentation. The boy Jesus in the Temple. Jesus in the Carpenters shop.

The window was given in memory of Doctor Edward Scholfield.
