Summary[edit]
DescriptionDouble checking 2D acoustic data (7009516823).jpg | Senior fish biologist Brian Mulvey (right) and environmental specialist Natalie Houghton with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District prepare an acoustic receiver for underwater testing in the Sacramento River near Sacramento, Calif., March 21, 2012. The Corps uses the receivers to evaluate habitat restoration work under its Sacramento River Bank Protection Project. A joint effort between the Sacramento District and the California Central Valley Flood Protection Board, the project repairs river bank erosion along the Sacramento River and its tributaries to reduce flood risk. The Corps restores habitat after its repair work and continually monitors fish behavior near the repair sites to ensure the health of the habitat. (U.S. Army photo by Todd Plain/Released) |
