Summary[edit]

Description
English: This aircraft set a world speed record of 725.9 mph over a 3 km closed-course on 3 October, 1953. On 16 October of the same year it set the 100 km closed-course record of 728.11 mph. Displayed outside Armitage Field on Naval Weapons Station (formerly NOTS) China Lake, California for 20 years. Now displayed across from the former base Officer's Club, where the NMAT is located. It is the only remaining prototype Skyray.
