English: Drainage Channel in Flood Plain Field, Shropshire This is really just a "straight shallow long narrow depression" in the land, about 50cm, just enough to help channel flood waters back towards the Corve or its tributaries and lower the water table, thus making the rich grassy fields available for livestock for as long as possible. |
