Русский: Древности Российского государства (Antiquities of Russian country), 1846—1853. Т.1. Иллюстратор — Солнцев, Фёдор Григорьевич

Золотое кадило, сделанное по повелению царя Федора Иоанновича (хранится в московском Архангельском соборе)

Кадило это, драгоценное по металлу и по камням, его украшающим, равно и по искусной работе, весом 4 ф. 33 1/2 золотн. Чашке его с крышкой дано художником подобие одноглавой церкви с решетчатыми окнами и с восьмиконечным на главе крестом. На внешних ее стенках между арабесками наведены чернью собор Архангела Михаила и лики святых, в числе коих видны тезоименитые царю Федору Иоанновичу и царице Ирине св. Федор Стратилат и св. мученица Ирина. В гнездах по местам вставлены изумруды и яхонты, граненые и неграненые. Четыре кольчатые цепи, к коим прикреплено кадило, имеют в середине четыре креста с яхонтами; самая ерданка, или рукоять, из чистого золота, богато украшена чернью и драгоценными каменьями.

Казалось, мастер истощил свое искусство, чтобы сделать утварь сию, сколь можно великолепнее, согласно с желанием усердствовавшей особы.

Хотя в надписи на рисунке и сказано, что кадило сие царя Федора Алексеевича, но на поддоне из узловатой надписи, наведенной по золоту чернью, узнаете, что «кадило сие сделано повелением Благоверныя Великия Государыни, Царицы и Великия Княгини Ирины, во иноцех Александры по Великом Государе, Царе и Великом Князе Федоре Иоанновиче к его Царскому гробу, 1598 году».
