Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Hønsedrengen Palle har fortalt gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen, hvordan Ib Abelsøn er blevet fanget af de svenske soldater på Gjorslev Slot. Svend Poulsen og hans gønger, der selv er forklædte som svenske soldater, tager afsted for at befri ham. På vejen møder de et par gønger, der gik i forvejen. Den ene har set, hvad der sker på slottet. Den anden, Jes Skovfoged, har fanget den onde Kulsoen for at forhindre hende i at advare de svenske soldater. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679, til venstre) var en virkelig person, men historien er fiktion. Svend Poulsens udseende er også fantasi, for der kendes ingen portrætter af ham.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. The chicken boy Palle has told Svend Poulsen, Gøngegøvdingen, how Ib Abelsøn has been captured by the Swedish soldiers at the Gjorslev Castle. Svend Poulsen and his gønger who are disguised as Swedish soldier themselve then goes to free him. On their way they meets two gønger who went ahead. The one has seen what happens at the castle. The other named Jes Skovfoged has captured the evil Kulsoen to prevent her from warning the Swedish soldiers. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679, at the left) was a real person but the story is fiction. The look of Svend Poulsen is also fantasy as there is no known portraits of him. |
