Description
English:
New mountain hut named after Baron Loránd Eötvös. Stone building. Built in 1906. Hospitality, event venue building. Before its is an multilingual information board about Dobogókő (lit. Hollow Stone) almost 700m asl., the Plateau is the remnant of a mid Miocene volcano. The lava settled within layers of andesit tuff on the steep northern slopes of the hill. It is possible to estimate of the size of the former volcano on the bassis of the fact that is western side is the Malom Valley at Dömös, the eastern side is the Szent Lászlóhill and Urak Asztala reaching above Pilisszentlászló, the munumental caldera nort end was at Nagymaros Other monadnocks of volcanic activity are also visible lookout tower the dual line Vadállo Stones and the Thirring Clff emerge from thei surrunding as they are more resistant. Because of it southern exposure the climate of the plateau fairly moderate compared to its height and it is populated thermophilous and aridity resistant Turkey Oak forests. The neighbouring Két bükkfa nyereg (Two oaks hogback) and Jász Hill host the most beautyful Beech groves of the hills, which is specially spectacular in March, when groundlwevel almost completly covered pink and white flowers of Bulbois Corydalis. The protected species Helleborus purpurascens also resident here, this area is the western border of its appearance, - Téry Ödön Street, centre of Dobogókő neighborhood, Pilisszentkereszt, Pest County, Hungary
