English: The broken pediment looks quite out of place among the terraces....late 1880s to early 1890s I guess.
Wimmera is an area of Western Victoria in Australia, whose main settlement is Horsham. A brief internet search of this property yields this 1914 Patent : Elastic webbing. W. J. Taylor, "Wimmera Lodge," Salis- bury Road, Walthamstow, and W. Williams & Son, 53, Bread street — both in London. W. Williams &Son (Bread Street) Ltd still exists but in Fountayne Road, N15. In this history, one will see that Mr WJ Taylor became an assistant buyer in the mid 1890s and a director by 1909 and later manager of the haberdashery factory in Hackney.(Belsham Street and Silesia Buildings off Mare Street) Later he was Chairman.The 1914 Directory lists a Joseph Henry Taylor living here. |
