DescriptionET 57, Dresden, 1989.jpg |
The Berlin Wall has been broached for about 36 hours, but all is quiet in Dresden on this Saturday morning. Old Gotha trams were still operating on Route 1 , but unfortunately the only one we met was in shade. What is that car on the left? ( PS :answer below) Motor Car 213 009-3 is running into the city en route for Postplatz with 2 trailers. 16 normal Gauge Gotha T57s dating from 1959 were acquired from Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz today) when it abandoned this type . 009 is one such. They are double ended, with the motor car running round the trailers at the termini. Just over a year later, on 2 December 1990, the Gotha trams were taken our of service in Dresden when this section of route to Cossebaude route was abandoned beyond Cotta and replaced by bus service no 94. Taken on Kodak slide film with a Olympus XA compact 35mm camera. Probably in Meissner Landstrasse. |
