Description
Deutsch: Künstlerische Interpretation in Terragen, MyPaint und Gimp. Zeigt einen hypothetischen, erdähnlichen Mond mit dichten Wolken, der um einen Gasriesen kreist. Beide sind Mitglieder eines Roten Zwergs Systems. Rote Zwerge sind die häufigsten Sterne, sie sind sehr leuchtschwach und klein. Ihre habitable Zone liegt zwischen 0,04 AE und 0,2 AE. Gesteinsplaneten, auf denen Oberflächenwasser flüssig ist, müssen ihr Zentralgestirn sehr nah umkreisen, was zu einer gebundenen Rotation führen kann (eine Seite des Planeten zeigt immer zum Zentralgestirn, die andere liegt in Dunkelheit). Zudem neigen einige Rote Zwerge zu heftigen Strahlungsausbrüchen, sogenannten Flares, die die Atmosphäre eines potentiellen Planeten schaden kann. Ein Gasplanet, der von einem erdähnlichen Mond umkreist wird, könnte hypothetisch diesen mit einem starken Magnetfeld schützen.
