Summary[edit]

Description

Baseball card of Ed Phelps, St. Louis Nationals. T205 Gold Borders set. reverse

Edward Phelps, whom the Toronto Club of the Eastern League got from the St. Louis Nationals in December, 1910, began his work on the diamond in Danbury, Connecticut. After a few years in the minors he was purchased by Pittsburg[h], and afterward traded to Cincinnati. Repurchased in 1907, he caught some games for the Pirates the next two seasons, but found a much greater field with the St. Louis Nationals, for whom he worked in 1909 and 1910 in more than half their games.
