Born nearby in the old Hotel area of Tinnahinch,
He is held in high regard as a poet.
His deep love of the people and of the area
is aptly expressed by his poems.
He taught the youth his time to love and
appreciate the River Barrow.
His achievements as a swimmer
and diver are legendary.
He was a talented piper with a natural
