| Description |
English: A World War II era gun, an Ordnance QF 25 pounder, pictured on display at Edinburgh Castle. It's seen here in the Western Defences, pointing west. The wall is the northern part of the building that lies in the Wester Defences and adjoins the rear of the cart shed/cafe, which is in the Middle Ward. Beyond it is the Western Defences courtyard that contains the hospital building and war museum. The stairs to the right go down to the grassed area of the defences. To the rear of the gun is the stairway up to the Mills Mount Battery in the Middle Ward. The outer wall of the castle is behind the camera. |
