| Description |
English: Edinburgh Waverley station, west end, 2002. View westward from Waverley Bridge to The Mound Tunnel, before the changes of 2006. On the left, passing Waverley West Box is the South Loop and branching from it are the In and Out Outer Circle lines serving Platforms 20 and 21 - out of frame; next are the long Down through lines serving platforms 11/12 (with a train at no. 12); in the middle are the terminal platforms 13/14, then nos. 15/16, then no. 17, no. 18 across only one track, then finally no.19 which faces the Up main through line and is flanked on the far right by the North Loop. Ahead above the Mound Tunnel is the Scottish Academy and National Gallery, with Edinburgh Castle up above far left. |
