From the Khalili Collections Description: https://www.khalilicollections.org/collections/hajj-and-the-arts-of-pilgrimage/khalili-collection-islamic-art-panel-from-the-hizam-of-the-kabah-txt39a/

"This is one of eight panels that form the hizam (‘belt’), an inscribed band that encircles the upper part of the Ka‘bah. This panel (...) is embroidered with verses 95-97 from surah Al ‘Imran (III). The text refers to ‘the religion of Abraham’, ‘the first house of worship that was in Mecca’ and ‘the Station of Abraham’."

Quran 3:95-97: https://quran.com/3?translations=22%2C57%2C20%2C131

Say, "Allāh has told the truth. So follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of the polytheists." (95)

Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Bakkah [i.e., Makkah] - blessed and a guidance for the worlds.(96)

In it are clear signs [such as] the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it [i.e., the Ḥaram] shall be safe. And [due] to Allāh from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves [i.e., refuses] - then indeed, Allāh is free from need of the worlds.(97)

The "standing place of Abraham" also known as the Station of Ibrahim stands facing the NE wall containing the entrance door of the Kaaba - see: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Kaaba.png

This panel was originally made in the early 20th century CE from black and green-coloured silk, and the verses of the Quran are embroidered "with gold and silver thread and strips of flattened gold and silver wire, over padding."

This version of the image has been cropped to 5:1 aspect ratio, and certain quality elements have been enhanced, including white balance, color balance, saturation, contrast, and sharpness.
Date early 20th century CE
