Polski: Edward Narkiewicz (1938–2007) w 1958 roku przyjechał do Polski z Litwy wraz z ostatnią grupą repatriantów. Po studiach na wydziale malarstwa warszawskiej Akademii Sztuk Pięknych karierę artystyczną zaczynał w drugiej połowie lat 60. od współpracy z Galerią Foksal. Artysta w swoim malarstwie w bardzo oryginalny sposób łączył różne porządki artystyczne. Odniesienia do awangardy surrealistycznej sąsiadują tutaj z kontrkulturową estetyką psychodelii oraz pop-artem i sztuka naiwną. Silnie obecne są również w malarstwie Narkiewicza (związane z jego biografią) odniesienia do duchowości Wschodu, konfrontowane z zachodnioeuropejskimi tradycjami artystycznymi. Obraz Narkiewicza „Bez tytułu” z 1969 roku jest jednym z najlepszych przykładów tego interesującego eklektyzmu. Podobnie jak inne obrazy artysty z tego czasu atakuje on widza mocnymi symbolami i ich zestawieniami. Jest to malarstwo okresu kontestacji, okresu nadziei na duchową przemianę ludzkości (estetyka psychodelii) oraz obaw przed jej całkowitą anihilacją (grzyb atomowy). Obraz ten zawiera w sobie specyficzną mieszankę popartowej agresji i estetyki flower power. |
