Description
English: in 1904, Edward S. Ellis was a deputy street superintendent for the City of Los Angeles, California. He was arrested, and charged with accepting bribes to approve public works projects without having inspected them; however, on December 31, 1904, the judge called a mistrial on account of a hung jury.
