English: Edward and Abbie Denny Lindsley posing for wedding portrait, Seattle, 1877
Description
English:

Abilene Lucinda "Abbie" Denny (1858-1915) was born in Seattle to pioneers David Thomas Denny (1832-1903) and Louisa (Boren) Denny (1827-1916). In 1877 she married Edward Lawrence Lindsley (1853-1933) who had been born in Wisconsin to Aaron and Maria Newell Lindsley. Abbie Lindsley was a well-known painter and writer, using the pen-names "Chelana" and "Sagebrush." Together the Lindsleys had at least six children: noted landscape photographer Lawrence Denny "Lawrie" Lindsley (1878-1975); Mabel Madge (Lindsley) Hunter (1879-1919); Sarah Winola (Lindsley) U'Ren (1881-1951); Anne Irene (Lindsley) Bradley (1882-1978); Norman David Lindsley (1884-1957); and Harold Denny Lindsley (1887-1887). In this image Edward and Abbie Lindsley pose for a portrait photograph around the time of their May 3, 1877 wedding in Seattle. The Lindsleys lived most of their adult lives at Chelana Alal, their ranch along 25 Mile Creek at Lake Chelan.
