| Description |
English: Edwardian school architecture, Sidcup, Kent The present buildings of Longlands (County) Primary School were begun in 1905, with extensions in 1907 and 1910. An annexe was built c1953 and various other extensions and add-ons in the later years of the 20th century. The original Edwardian buildings are a typical brick-built design for the period. I notice that the original sash windows have been replaced, not surprising after a century! At the rear of the school each half formerly was divided into 16 small panes, but now the lower half of each window is a single large sheet of glass. |
