Begin vorige eeuw werd ook begonnen ander soort wapentuig te produceren. Omdat de automobiel als transport voor goederen en mensen ook militair interessant was ging men tevens voertuigen produceren. Sinds 1911 treed Eduard Tas vanuit een eenmanskantoortje in het gebouw De Passage, Nieuwendijk 199 te Amsterdam, formeel als importeur van Ehrhardt-automobielen naar buiten. De eigenlijke kernactiviteiten van Eduard Tas kunnen het best in onze tijd vertaald worden als die van wapenhandelaar. In een der eerste artikelen en reclames over het merk claimt hij dat het Nederlandse Leger al gebruik maakt van een door hem in 1910 geleverde Ehrhardt-vrachtwagen. Deze is vermoedelijk rechtstreeks afgeleverd bij de militaire autoherstel- en constructiewerkplaatsen te Delft.
