Description « [...] l'une des palmes qui ont été déposées sur les panneaux des petites portes en bronze du Panthéon de Paris, exécutées d'après les dessins de Constant Dufreux. Ces portes ont été fondues par M. Simonin, en 1851, à une époque où l'édifice, qui n'a pas encore été rendu au culte, était toujours le monument consacré aux grands hommes par la « Patrie reconnaissante ». Aussi le symbole de gloire représenté par la palme était-il d'une application convenable, ainsi que les branches de laurier qui l'accompagnent et les branches de chêne qui se voient sur le panneau de l'autre vantail. »
