Français : L'état d'urgence est décrété, assorti d'un couvre-feu. En quelques jours, presque toute l'Afrique adopte des mesures similaires. Rapportée au nombre de cas de nouveau coronavirus sur le continent, relativement faible au regard des chiffres européens, la réponse des autorités semble sévère.
Mais si la riposte est drastique, c'est que la plupart des États africains ne peuvent se permettre une propagation du Covid-19. En cas d'épidémie, les systèmes de santé seraient vite submergés. Et les conséquences sanitaires, dramatiques. Cette situation met au jour, comme ailleurs dans le monde, les failles d'un système qui a atteint ses limites. Mais elle pourrait aussi changer la donne, et constituer l'élément déclencheur d'une nouvelle réflexion sur le sujet. Pour les dirigeants africains, le défi est immense. Car le secteur est bien mal en point du fait d'un sous-investissement notoire.
