Description
Deutsch: Ensemble Domkirche St. Marien, Am Mariendom 1-9 in Hamburg-St. Georg. Zum Ensemble gehören die Domkirche, Pfarrei, Domschule, Kindertagesstätte, Wohngebäude, Skulpturen und der Kirchplatz. Das Kirchengebäude wurde zwischen 1890-1893 als Pfarrkirche erbaut, der Entwurf stammt vom Architekt Arno Güldenpfennig. Seit 1995 Kathedrale des Erzbischofs von Hamburg und Sitz des Metropolitankapitels. Im Vordergrund die Skulptur des Heiligen Sankt Ansgars, 1. Erzbischof (831-868) von Hamburg, ein Geschenk des Bistums Mainz zum Katholikentag im Jahr 2000. Die Skulptur stammt vom Künstler Karlheinz Oswald.
