Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Here we are on flight UAL872 TPE to SFO, at altitude: 7976 feet / 2431 meters, on our descent into San Francisco, and we notice that we are leaving flat cloud cover, entering this odd wave pattern. Aircraft heading for all three files: 312 degrees. We are looking north. We named the three files after their timestamp (TPE time) suffix.
In these three files, 1708, 1724, 1739, we have used Exiftool to interpolate a better GPS position (than 0, 0!). (Method.) Indeed, before looking at the newly reconstructed coordinates, we thought, "Odd, some atmospheric boundary over the Pacific Ocean." But after reconstruction we say "Ah yes, must be related to the land / water boundary nearby below. After hours at sea, we are now over land, even if we can't see it." |
