Summary[edit]

Description The Old Hakone Highway was part of the famous Tōkaidō route between Edo (Tokyo) and Kyoto. Starting in Motohakone, the first half of the route passes through a wonderful, quiet forest. Hiking the Old Hakone Highway makes for a great day trip from Tokyo! Here the route enters the hamlet of Hatajuku, famous for its fine yosegi, a local woodcraft.
